make*do*mend: Beginning Apparel Sewing - The Wiksten Shift, Wednesdays 3/11 + 3/18, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

$ 110.00

We are incredibly excited to add this to our roster of early apparel projects. In this project you'll work with a pattern, which means you'll want to sign up for This is a Pattern (apparel sewing 101), and then you'll work on details such as top-stitching pockets, curved seams, gathering stitches, and more. It’s exciting to see a pattern so well balanced and with many variations and opportunities to put your own spin on it.

This loose shift is both comfortable and elegant, the perfect wardrobe staple. Choose from three different lengths: a cropped top, above-the-knee dress, or calf-length dress with side slits. The top has a plain back, while the dress has added fullness from back gathers. Patch pockets, waist tie, and three quarter length sleeve options are included. Neck is finished with an easy-to-sew facing. If this is one of your first apparel projects, we recommend keeping it simple with the top. Additionally, using muslin for your first project is never a bad idea.

Experience Level: Advanced Beginner Sewing/Beginner Apparel Sewing (you are comfortable on the machine and have completed several other projects (non-apparel or a few apparel projects)

You've taken This is a Pattern (Apparel Sewing 101) or equivalent and will be able to trace/cut and prep your pieces on your own if not doing it in This is a Pattern.
