make*do*mend: This is a Pattern (Apparel Sewing 101), Saturday April 11th - 3 to 6 p.m.
This product is unavailable
Moving to sew apparel and work with more involved patterns is a game-changer in your sewing journey and we're here to help! We have updated our previous curriculum to give a greater foundation before you take your first apparel project class with us, or venture to do so on your own. Just like our This is a Sewing Machine class lays the groundwork for general sewing and some early wins, This is a Pattern aims to do the same as you grow in your sewing skills.
This three-hour class will take those new to apparel through the ins and outs of how to use a sewing pattern, from deciphering the information on the envelope to the moment you're ready to sit down at the machine.
You'll leave with your project prepped and ready for your next class, or to begin sewing on your own. Please keep in mind that any major fitting may impact the time needed.
Experience Level: Beginner Apparel Sewing ( You've used a sewing machine to make quite a few projects and are comfortable with the machine, basic sewing terminology, and spatial concepts.)
- The pattern of your choice (check out our beginner apparel classes to see which one you'd like to make)

- Recommended PRE-WASHED yardage for the pattern per your intended size (we can help you choose) - muslin, or our economical voile, rayon and batiste base cloths may be needed for part of your pattern before going for the gold.
