make*do*mend: Advanced Beginner Apparel Sewing, Invisible Zipper Skirt - Saturday, February 1st, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It's always nice to have a quick apparel project, especially as a beginner to garment sewing.
In this class you'll learn how to use your measurements to create a gathered skirt that fits you! You'll also learn how to install a trickier element: an invisible zipper!
Experience Level: Beginner in Apparel/Advanced Beginner or Intermediate in General Sewing (you've sewn several non-apparel projects and have confidence with the machine yet you haven't tacked bigger concepts and techniques)
- 1.5 to 2 yards of PREWASHED light- to mid-weight woven fabric, such as chambray, lawn or linen (if you are on the outlying sizes of general sizing feel free to consult us for more or less yardage)
- 1 invisible zipper (7-9" if you're on the smaller end of the size range, 12-14" if you're curvier)
- 1/2 yard fusible light- to mid-weight interfacing
- Coordinating thread for topstitching
