make*do*mend: Beginning Apparel - Bottoms Up (Pants No. 1 & Shorts) - Wednesdays, January 10 and 17 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Now part of our Learn to Sew Apparel Trilogy, this is an easier apparel project just waiting for you to conquer. Love to sew but haven't tried pants, well let's do it with the aptly named, Pants No. 1! We've found that many students find early success with this pattern, and we've added the City Gym Shorts pattern as a way to up your skills even more!
Experience Level: Advanced Beginner in Sewing/Beginner Apparel (you feel pretty comfortable on the machine, you're getting the ideas and concepts around sewing but haven't done much or anything with apparel yet. As always, ask us and we'll help you make an informed choice on your readiness)
- The Pants No. 1 Pattern from 100 Acts of Sewing
- City Gym Shorts Pattern (PDF) from Purl Soho
- Tracing Paper
- PREWASHED recommended yardage per the pattern for your chosen version. Lightweight cotton, wovens, mid weights, etc. all work for this one.
- Please consult with us on the need for muslin before going big on your dream fabric
- Matching thread for topstitching if the studio grays, whites and black don't work with your fabric

While we do our best to accommodate fit needs, please note the pattern dimensions for fit. If you need more than minor adjustments, please check out our private lesson options or ask us for more information. Please note that the pattern and tracing paper is what you'll want to bring to your session of Pattern 101 so that you can be prepared for class.
Cost: $95 (includes class instruction plus our Pattern 101 class, which is how you’ll have your pattern and fabric ready to dive into the project. Please consult the calendar and let us know which session works best for you) You'll also be able to attend one of our class-specific finish studios in case you don't finish. Limit one per student per class.
All classes at Drygoods Design require prepayment and registration. In some cases, day-of sign up is available. Classes are non-refundable. Cancellations received 72 hours before the class start, will be able to redistribute their class fees to another class. Cancellations received less than 72 hours before the class start or no-shows will forfeit their class fees entirely. Late arrivals past 15 minutes may risk forfeiting their fees. We are unable to guarantee the same class or session will be available for rescheduling.
