We're in love with this dress/top pattern which, in the end, has about 18 different combinations for you to enjoy. It makes for a fantastic early garment in your sewing career and it's silhouette is close to many from our Japanese patterns yet with clear, well-written instructions that are easy to follow. You can choose which version you'd like to do and we'll get you going on it.

Experience Level: Advanced Beginner in Sewing/Beginner Apparel (you feel pretty comfortable on the machine, you're getting the ideas and concepts around sewing but haven't done much or anything with apparel yet. As always, ask us and we'll help you make an informed choice on your readiness)

Materials Needed:

  • The Lottie Pattern by Christine Haynes
  • Tracing Paper
  • PREWASHED recommended yardage per the pattern for your chosen version. Lightweight cottons, wovens, mid weights, etc. all work for this one.
  • Please consult with us on the need for muslin before going big on your dream fabric
  • Matching thread for topstitching if the studio grays, whites and black don't work with your fabric

*all materials available for purchase at Drygoods Design, including a 15% discount with proof of class registration

While we do our best to accommodate fit needs, please note the pattern dimensions for fit. If you need more than minor adjustments, please check out our private lesson options or ask us for more information. Please note that the pattern and tracing paper is what you'll want to bring to your session of Pattern 101 so that you can be prepared for class.

Cost: $95 (includes class instruction plus our Pattern 101 class, which is how you’ll have your pattern and fabric ready to dive into the skirt. Please consult the calendar and let us know which session works best for you) You'll also be able to attend one of our class-specific finish studios in case you don't finish. Limit one per student per class.
