We’ve long loved the work of Meg Callahan. With a refreshing, striking take on quilting, Meg has an aesthetic and approach that is at once new and classic. In this one-day class, you’ll start your journey with patchwork and quilting as Meg leads you through a small project to learn the basics that will set you up for success as you move towards a bigger project. It's all straight lines but you'll get to see how those can take new shapes!

We’ll have the base fabrics ready for you and you’ll pick out your focal fabrics for what can be a modern quilted piece of art for your wall or the front of your new favorite pillow - it’s up to you!

Experience Level: Beginner/Advanced Beginner/Intermediate - you feel comfortable on the machine and most of the basic sewing concepts but have yet to tackle patchwork and quilting

Materials Needed:

  • Base cloth and batting kit from Drygoods (we’ll have these ready at class for purchase ($8) and pick up)
  • Your choice of three to four scrap fabrics or 1/8 yard cuts (we’ll also have some available too)
  • Topstitching/quilting thread (cotton) if other than our studio neutrals is preferred

*all materials available for purchase at Drygoods Design, including a 15% discount with proof of class registration
