make*do*mend: Double Techniques - Sashiko-Stitched Petal Pouch - Thursdays, 10/18 + 10/25 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Our team is so excited to add this class to our schedule! Taking two different skills and adding them up for a beautiful and unique finished product. Your first session you'll learn, or enhance, sashiko stitching and get going on stitching the base fabric for your petal zipper pouch. The second session is where you'll cut and assemble the Petal Pouch, a pattern from Noodlehead.
Experience Level: Advanced Beginner Sewing - you feel relatively comfortable with the machine and are ready for zipper installation or a refresher on it. Total beginner when it comes to Sashiko? That's a-okay!
- The Petal Pouch pattern by Noodlehead (we have it as part of a three-pattern booklet or you can download a PDF version)
- Sashiko Thread
- Sashiko needles
- Required fabric for petal pouch (typically two fat quarters is more than enough) - solids or woven fabric (also more solid) work well to make the sashiko stitches pop.
- Zipper (per pattern)
