make*do*mend: Get Your Dye On - Indigo and Shibori Techniques - Sunday, April 7th, 12 to 2:30 p.m.
Hailing from Japan, Shibori is much like the tie-dye t-shirt but using indigo. In this three-hour class, you'll see how to make your own small-batch vat of indigo and learn more about various techniques to create beautiful and one-of-a-kind dyed goods and textiles.
After practicing on smaller pieces of cloth, you'll get to make your own hand-dyed tea towels and take them home!
Experience Level: No experience required
Materials needed: We'll provide the vat vessels, dye and basic cloth to dye. If you'd like to try something else (please keep to no larger than 18 x 18"), feel free to bring!
Cost: $85 (includes instruction and all materials, including a kit to take home)
