make*do*mend: Slower Stitching Apparel - Visible Mending, Saturday, September 28 - 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Rips in your jeans where you don’t want them? Moth holes in a favorite sweater? Don’t throw them away! Instead, bring those items with you to class and we will explore fun ways to mend, darn and repair them using sashiko-style stitched patches, simple embroidery techniques, and traditional darning.
No machine experience required for this class.
Experience Level: All levels welcome
- Intended item(s) to mend
- Scrap fabrics for patches (we also have our scrap bins through which to sort)
- Sashiko-style cotton thread, embroidery floss, or perle cotton
Thread, hand sewing needles, and thimbles all available in our shop and students enjoy 20% off class materials.
Price: $55 (Includes two and a half hours of instruction and all tools and machines required)
CLASS POLICY: All classes at Drygoods Design require prepayment and registration. In some cases, day-of sign up is available. Classes are non-refundable and held to a strict cancellation policy; please be sure of your schedule prior to registration. Cancellations received 72 hours before the day of class, will be able to redistribute their class fees to another class. Cancellations received less than 72 hours before the day of class or no-shows will forfeit their class fees. We are unable to guarantee the same class or session will be available for rescheduling. Arriving more than 15 minutes late for class may be a forfeit of fees.
