make*do*mend: This is Knitting - First Stitches, Saturday, October 5 - 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Knitting is a craft where you get to create the fabric, and with the two basic stitches mastered you can tackle many projects big and small. Here, we'll start small with the foundation of any project - a swatch. Where you take it is up to you! Gain confidence with the building blocks of knitting - casting on, knit, purl, casting off and early best practices. Led by a teacher who is a lefty turned righty in knitting, you'll be well guided no matter your dominant hand.
- Knit How: Simple Knits, tools & tips (book)
- One skein of worsted weight yarn
- Size 8 (5mm) knitting needles
