Our summer camps are a bunch of fun; and have some logistics to make it easier for pick, drop off and getting ready. Here are details for parking, pick up times and a sense of their daily schedule.
Logistics: For drop-off, you can pull right up to the shop on Occidental Square (entering from S Jackson) and park for up to 30 minutes, this option ends at 11 a.m. The shop doesn't open until 10 but our instructor(s) will be here to greet and welcome. For pick-up, if you would like, you can call the shop ahead of time and let us know when you'll be pulling up on S Main (where you can typically just double park for a quick second where it meets the square on the south side) and we can bring your child out to the car. Otherwise, parking at 12:30 is available on all nearby streets. If you're going to be staying longer, Stadium Place has four-hour parking spots available and is less than street parking per hour. You can find it at King and Occidental.
Pick-up each day is at 12:30 p.m.
Tentative daily schedule:
9:30 to 9:45: campers arrive/settle in/play with scraps
9:45 to 10: go over project of the day or dive into previous day's; select fabrics
10:00 to 11:00: sew, sew, sew
11:00 to 11:15: snack and trim threads
11:15 to 12:15: sew, craft, sew
12:15 to 12:25: clean up, talk about next day's projects/fabrics
12:25 to 12:30 ready for pick up
First Day: We’ll get to plan out how the week will go and pick out some fabrics; this day will be a little less structured than others but gets us all prepped for the week ahead.
Snacks - we do our best to serve healthy, allergen-free options for snacks, however due to the number of campers, sessions, and dietary needs that pop up, we ask parents whose children may have allergies or other restrictions/ preferences to send alternatives with their child to camp.
On Fridays of camp, we usually celebrate a week well done with a trip for gelato or popsicles. If your child has allergies and can't participate; please let us know and send along an alternative we can serve them.
